Every client is offered a 90 minute assessment, giving you time to explain your problem and tell us how you have tried to resolve your sleep difficulty in the past.
We then ask you to complete a sleep diary, to give us an accurate picture of your current situation.
With this information, we devise a bespoke treatment plan.
Treatment time varies, and can be anything from 2 -6 sessions depending on the nature of the problem. If symptoms of a sleep disorder are identified, some further investigations can be arranged, either through the NHS, or privately, with a consultant sleep specialist.
All treatment used is evidence based, and our aim is that once you finish the programme, if your sleep is disturbed in years to come, you will have the knowledge and confidence to use these tools again.
WyeSleep can support clients on a 1:1 basis with a wide range of sleep issues from insomnia, excessive snoring, jet lag
or sleep-disturbed children for example.
Clients range from the age of one year to older adult.
Following a comprehensive sleep assessment, a bespoke sleep plan is designed to address the issues, working to improve the clients sleep.
The first line treatment for insomnia is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia(CBTI). This is a different therapy to CBT, as it integrates specialist knowledge of the science of sleep and sleep disorders.
Joanna will help you to understand what is stopping you from sleeping and give you evidence based techniques to address the issues that are affecting you.
She adapts the programme to suit your needs, so the duration of treatment is different for everyone, but usually 4-6 sessions will see a significant improvement in sleep quality and quantity.
Joanna is also trained in Acceptance and Commitment therapy, which is also used effectively for the treatment of insomnia.

Our trained sleep practitioner and nurse prescriber will deliver sessions on the basic science of sleep, what sleep needs for it to arrive, how to manage a racing mind and how to cope after a disturbed night.
In addition, we will also deliver the course content of the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) treatment, so you will return home equipped with all the evidence - based information you need, to restore your relationship with your sleep once more.
There will be plenty of time to ask questions as the group numbers will be kept small, and if you need a 1:1 session, this can be arranged during your stay.
In between the sessions, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful cuisine and facilities, of a boutique hotel.

Sleep deprivation can be the cause of workplace accidents, low productivity and an increase in work related errors.
During the initial appointment, a full history of the sleep difficulty is taken, to gather an understanding of the possible causes of the problem. It is important to establish that insomnia is the cause of the sleep difficulty and not another underlying sleep disorder, which may require different treatment.
We then work with the client to formulate a bespoke plan to ensure we meet the individual's specific needs.
In the same way as exercise can take time to see results, changing a sleep pattern may involve a change in routine or habit, but as the plan is evidence based, the results can be life changing, with a little perseverance.
Although WyeSleep is authorised to prescribe medication, it is rarely used . Benzodiazepines, or Z-drugs, to aid sleep initiation are not prescribed.
